Who we are

Our school opened in 1991. We have kindergarten through eighth grade. We offer many extra-curricular activities during and after school. If students participate in an after-school activity, they can ride an activities bus home with written permission.

What we do

All students will successfully develop the foundational knowledge, skills, and behaviors essential to become lifelong learners and responsible decision makers in an ever-changing world.

History

Ground was broken for a new elementary school in Golden Valley in 1990. Black Mountain School was officially listed in the 1992 directory and can still be found on Santa Maria Road. Black Mountain became a k-8 in 2001 in order to serve the growing need in the Golden Valley community.

Black Mountain School has a strong history of quality teaching. With previous, back-to-back educator Excellence Awards granted by the state of Arizona in the mid 2000s, Black Mountain continues to work hard to provide its students with staff that will help them excel in their learning.
