Who We Are
Kingman High School is proud to be an accredited high school serving 1,150 students. We are a dynamic and innovative 9th through 12th grade campus in Kingman, Arizona. The pride and history of Kingman High School dates back to 1917, originally named Mohave Union High School. The Grandview campus was renamed Kingman High School in 1970 and the school moved to our current campus in 1994.
Kingman High School is dedicated to providing a diverse, high quality, education. We are excited to offer a magnitude of various classes. Students are able to participate in courses dedicated to highly rigorous academics, professional readiness, dual credit college courses, and a variety of Career and Technical Education courses. Our partnership with Mohave Community College allows students to earn college credit concurrently with their high school graduation requirements.
The Kingman Unified School District's commitment to academics, arts, activities, and athletics is fulfilled at Kingman High School with over 100 extra-curricular clubs and activities for students. This allows KHS to achieve our goals of providing a challenging curriculum while creating an environment that encourages all students to actively participate in a well-rounded academic career
Our History
Kingman High School can trace its heritage all the way back to 1917, just five years after Arizona gained statehood.
Originally the school was called Mohave County Union High School and was built at the corner of Fourth Street and Oak Street in downtown Kingman. A site that had been the Pioneer Cemetery, recently vacated. The school remained MCUHS for some 50 years, before later being known as Kingman High School. In 1973, the building burned down. But a new school was built on Grandview Avenue which housed the high school for another 30 years.
In 1993 a new high school outside of the Kingman city limits was built, known as Kingman High School North; it was the campus for sophomores, juniors, and seniors and is located where the current campus stands. Freshmen attended the old school, Kingman High South, on Grandview Avenue.
These two campuses merged again in 2006, and the plan was to make the old building a junior high school. Kingman High School is proud to be an accredited high school serving 1,150 students. Their vision? To provide your children with an education
